Viv Young

Viv gained City and Guilds certificatesfor Embroidery and Design in 1997 , and studied painting under Andrew Price .Since then she has been a member of Gordano Textile Artists and The Embroiderer's Guild .Her art is mainly influenced by the colours ,forms and textures of the natural world -flowers , plants and landscape. She makes textile pieces using fabric and thread in place of paint ,employing a range of techniques including dyeing ,piecing and layering ,finally embellishing with hand and machine embroidery .She has received commissions and her work hangs both in the UK and abroad .
