French Art

Inspiration from Lucien Pissaro - who painted in 1893 Les Dindons - the Turkeys


 
I thought that the method of heavy oil painting could be a method for making a modern textile landscape - I was particularly thinking of the texture of the foliage in the trees - many different colours which could be pieces of fabric with stitch - here is a start:-
This is a selection of fabrics in similar colours to those in the painting, placed on hand printed fabric. dh

    I've always loved Pissarro's colours, and I agree that his paintings lend themselves to textile interpretation - is this a case of "watch this space"?
