June pattern and colour.

Jenn had finished this piece using up small scraps of fabric. These had been gleaned from fabrics  made by mark making in the Lorna Crane online course last year run by www.fibreartstaketwo.com.
It has been hand stitched with just a black sewing thread and simple stitches.

Another simply stitched piece ,below, using applied patches of semi sheer fabrics .It is then stitched with variegated cotton threads using running stitch .The colours were inspired by Paul Klee's work and were a tryout of the technique as shown by Linda Kemshall www.designmatterstv.com

Both Carol and Debby had attended a Bristol Stitchers natural dye workshop with Debbie Mitchener.

The colours they acheived were amazing ,using weld, indigo, madder. The different fabrics took the dye differently. Other  colours were produced by dipping into more than one dye bath, for instance Weld then Indigo produces Lincoln Green.

Lovely stash of fabrics and threads individual to each participant.

Jenn and Carol both attended Angela Knapp's workshop to create a Robin using fabric and free machine stitch .Although all fabrics and instructions were identical they are very different while being recogniseably a Robin!
