Kirsten had picked up some matching frames and wanted our opinion on their suitability for her ‘key ‘pieces .They seemed quite a good choice.
She had looked at Lucia Leyfield courses and chose one about drawing seed packets .
Janis had been busy taking courses at various locations with a variety of tutors.
She had created this graphic piece in paper then reinterpreted in fabric ,above.
We liked it and some discussion ensued with Debby bringing out the Val Harding book and citing some pages on various layouts
Janis had also been doing some exercises to practise free machining
She had been to a course at the RWA taught by Janet Haig.
It revolves around having a cup of tea in a garden .The piece involves appliqué and stitch.It will be interesting to see how this develops.
She had also done an intarsia knitting workshop at The Spinning Wheel in Clevedon ,producing these two pieces.
This last example was a Mixed Media layering piece produced in Stoke Lodge.
