Repurpose .

Sue is very keen to reuse rather than recycle so with this in mind had created two cushions with very different purposes .She had refashioned one of her late husband's jackets, cleverly keeping the pocket which could house a mobile phone, or television remote. It is also a very tactile reminder of the person it once belonged to and can evoke memories and give comfort.

She had also made the circular cushion from a sweater shrunk in the wash .This too has a second  purpose in that it houses a waterproof layer .She spoke of people who are sometimes incontinent which can lead to embarrassment ,having such a cushion might prevent unfortunate accidents on upholstery and the cushion can be thrown in the wash.

Her final item was a much loved but moth eaten woollen .She has gone with the current trend to draw attention to the mend ,celebrating the stitch with very different colour to the original .

Not our usual stitch related pieces but valid all the same.
